Over the past year the Community Advisory Group
(CAG) has been working to ensure community issues and delegates are represented in what is a very scientific conference. The following activities and services have been organized for conference delegates.
The IAS 2015 Community Forum “Building Partnerships between the Community and Scientists to Strengthen the Response to HIV” will take place on Saturday 18th July 2015 at the St Paul’s Hospital.
This year’s engagement tour will provide delegates with a unique learning experience through an interactive visit to Insite, North America’s first legal supervised injection site.
The Positive Lounge is designed to be a place of rest, support and networking for HIV positive delegates. The lounge provides an opportunity to meet and talk with other people living with HIV from across the globe in a relaxed and nurturing environment. Limited complimentary snacks and spaces for informal meetings are provided. The Positive Lounge is intended for HIV positive delegates only. The lounge is located on the 2nd floor, room 202.
ARVs and OST
for information about travelling with and obtaining Anti-retrovirals (ARV) and Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) while in Canada.
NGO and civil society information will be displayed at the Community Booth in the exhibition hall, booth #241. The booth is hosted by 12 Local and National organizations working in HIV. All delegates are invited to stop by, speak with staff and collect information on different programmes and initiatives. For the complete schedule of the Community Booth, click here
Community Activist Liaison
The conference organizers provide support for dialogue and the participation of activists through the Community Activist Liaison. This person is available to provide advice and assistance in advance of and during the conference, in accordance with the IAS Principles and Values of Conference Participation
